We have a name for this magical mental activity … it is called DECISION.

Decisions, or the lack of them, can make or break your Career, your Relationship, your Business and your Health & Wellness. Research also shows that people who have harnessed the skill of decision making are often amongst the most successful.

It is not just your financial success that will be affected by your decisions, the outcome of each of the 7 crucial areas of your life will be determined by your ability to DECIDE!

The health of your mind and body, the wellbeing of your family, your social life, the type of relationships you develop, all depend on your ability to make timely decisions.

You would think that such a fundamental life skill like decision making would be taught in schools – right? Sadly, it is not.

So, without this skill being ingrained into us from a young age, how are we meant to develop our decision making? Quite simply, it is up to you!

Decision making can eliminate conflict and confusion in your life. Decision making puts an end to the chaos we create in our own mind when we over think – and fail to act.

Here are 7 quick steps to becoming an advanced decision maker:

  1. Identify your WHY – The first step in making the right decision is determining your WHY, how would you like your life to look and feel?
  2. Know Your Outcome – What is your goal? It is always important to know your outcome first. Visualise your end goal!
  3. Ask will this Decision (Action) lead me to my Goals – if the answer is yes take massive action, if the answer is no – stop it immediately.
  4. Get informed – it is important to make all decisions with facts and data, it also helps to you decide from a place of clarity. Facts and data will help take the emotion out of the process and stop you from making any decisions from a place of desperation.
  5. Look at your options – once you have gathered all of the facts that you need, you can begin to look at the options available to you. Look at which option is best for you to achieve your desired outcome.
  6. Look at the Feasibility – in our Quantum Property program we teach Feasibility Studies, this strategy can also be applied to day to day decision making. By looking at the feasibility of your options it allows you to weigh up the pros and cons and decide on the best possible option for you.
  7. Decide – now is the time to make the decision – it is important that you understand any risks and rewards at this point. Remember you can’t half decide, so this step takes 110% commitment.
  8. Take Action – after you have made your decision, take immediate action (even if it is a baby step) towards your outcome. For example; if you have decided to live a healthier lifestyle, prepare your shopping list, clear your pantry of food temptations or write your exercise plan for the week – then get moving.
  9. Review your decision – this step is almost as crucial as the decision itself, because in a world where we are constantly improving, the ability to review our choices and assess their effectiveness will allow us to make even better decisions in the future.
